Two symposiums will be held at this year’s Summit to address the current health policy and community capacity building

In the aftermath of the recent legislative session, a panel of legislators and health policy leaders will discuss how the legislative actions of 2017 will impact the health of Texans in the coming years. Panelists will discuss the 85th session’s implications for areas such as health care delivery, tobacco, school health, food policy, and active transportation. They’ll also look forward to the issues and challenges that are likely to shape future sessions.

When: Monday, November 6th

Join a panel of experts from diverse sectors to explore the opportunities and challenges of community capacity building- and collective impact-based approaches to reduce health disparities and improve health outcomes. Panelists will share proven strategies to generate greater support for community health; build and strengthen community relationships; increase individual and institutional skills to improve community health; spark and evaluate community action; and sustain community-wide efforts.
